I am dipping a toe in the water with internet 'dating', and using a French 'dating' website. I have been divorced since 2016 and my last serious relationship finished in 2020.

If you happen to read the whole of my Profile you will feel I am quite a serious person. But let me assure you I have a fun and sociable side !

I like music, films, reading, sports, walking, hills/mountains, weekends away, travelling ( if I can afford it ! ). But in general I want to live a new life after many years of demanding work that finished in 2022.

I am a very honest person and therefore want to say straightaway I now live in a rented flat, I don't drive anymore. I am not a great believer in a lot of possessions and I don't have much long-term money. Due to not putting enough money into my personal pension !

But I am told I am personable and good company. And I am fit and healthy ( I walk about 12 km per day most days ).

I am interested in meeting a French woman, but due to the journey of life it has taken me this long in life to try to do something about it ( having said that I have had a good life so far ). There is French ancestry on my mother's side and I have an instinctive affinity towards France. But I fully appreciate not having a lot of long-term money could hinder my chances of a long-term relationship with someone living in France. NB Will start to receive full UK state pension October 2027.
I was good at French at school but I have no experience of having conversations in French. I would be very happy to learn.

Being honest, again, I have to say I like my own company and my own space. However I don't want to shut my mind off from the possibility of meeting a woman with whom I could feel more fulfilled. It might not be easy to achieve due to financial restraints and my liking for my own company. But I don't believe in merely settling for a certain kind of life which perhaps later in life will feel unfulfilled. A positive mindset is required ! We don't want to depart from life with the nagging feeling we didn't give something that could be fulfilling a try.

Honesty and Kindness would be required on both sides ( and mutual attraction ). If it doesn't work out that would be very sad, but one can only hope we would part on good terms. My wife Julie and I divorced in 2016 but we are still on good terms. And I am still on good terms with Wendy, with whom I had a relationship after Julie until 2020.
